Since the year dot, deaf people have used signing to communicate. British Sign Language is an official language in this country – but one which very few people choose to learn – despite it being good fun and highly rewarding. Would you like to find out about British Sign Language, have fun, learn some signs and understand a little about Deaf culture?

There are approximately 45,000 D/deaf children in the UK. Many of whom do not have signing parents. Dot Sign is a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation, devoted to promoting D/deaf awareness, British Sign Language and equal access to opportunities for the D/deaf.

Dot Sign aim to encourage parents, grandparents and educators to gain some level of basic sign language BSL - to break down the communication barriers .
