The Chobham Saturday night movie - with fish and chips

Written by

The movies are coming to Chobham on Easter Saturday April 19th with a screening of a great classic, Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, at Chobham Club. It will be great family evening out with fish and chips being served during the intermission.

The event is organised by the Chobham Commons Preservation Committee as an annual jamboree and there is a local link, as a sequence in the film was filmed on Chobham Common, at Albury Bottom.

This 1965 comedy features a line up of vintage British acting talent including Terry-Thomas, Robert Morley, Benny Hill, Gordon Jackson, John Le Mesurier, Dame Flora Robson, Eric Sykes and Maurice Denham. So many late greats, plus a youthful Sarah Miles and James Fox! it will also be a wonderful trip down memory lane to catch a glimpse of the common as it was 50 years ago.

Tickets, including fish and chip supper (or veggie burger and chips) are £12 or £10 for under 16s. Family tickets for two adults and two children are £40.

Profits from the event will support the work of the preservation committee. To book call 01276 857914 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Doors and bar will open at 6.45pm with the performance at 7.15pm.
