Many a fine tune played on old Chobham bells

Two things you may not have known about the bells of Chobham Handbell Ringers. They were forged in the same foundry as Big Ben and they are now 106 years old.

The Ringers are holding two concerts this summer to raise money to refurbish them. This is a change to the Ringers' custom of raising money for children's charities through their ringing - over £20,000 raised in total over the years. But with the bells restored they can go on to ring and raise for charity for years to come.

The concerts are on Friday July 18th in Chobham at St Lawrence Church and on Friday July 25th at St Andrews, Goldsworth Park.

Tickets are £8 for adults and £4 for children.

Visit the Handbell's website, http://handbells.chobham.org/ for details on booking tickets and more about the bells.
