A musical evening of CELEBRATION at St Lawrence Church

Cathedral choristers are visiting Chobam in “dress down” mode

At St Lawrence Church, Chobham, on Friday June 12th is a musical CELEBRATION - and everyone in the village is invited.

The music is from the men choristers of Guildford Cathedral - the Lay Clerks - but not quite as you would expect to hear them in the choir stalls! They are coming to Chobham in “dress down” mode.

When they get together "off duty", these professional singers are great entertainers with a wide repertoire, from the serious to the light hearted, effortlessly interweaving sacred music with the secular to create an outstanding programme.

This celebration of the work of the village churches, St Lawrence and St Saviour, past, present and future, is above all a thank you to people who give their support with donations and time - and to inspire them to continue their generosity.

"But everyone is most welcome," said Vicar the Revd Chris Bessant. "I will say a few words of thanks and of explanation about how our churches rely on the committed giving of many individual, local people - none of the money comes from a big central Church of England pot! - but most of the evening is about enjoying the music."

There is no charge for the concert, or the drinks and nibbles, although donations, of course, will be very welcome. The evening starts at 7.30pm.
