Fairoaks submit bid to Airports Commission to be allowed to expand

Fairoaks airport have made a submission to the Airports Commission that outlines a longer runway and passenger facilities to handle larger business jets; as well as increasing flying training and helicopter flights.

You may remember that this follows the recent 'notice' for a new hangar of 6,000 sq metres to be built in Green Belt land, which as a 'permitted development' Surrey Heath Borough Council were unable to consider under normal planning procedures.

Many Chobham residents are worried about these proposals by Fairoaks and the potential noise impact on the village. If you are concerned about a potential 300% increase in fixed wing activity and totally unlimited capacity for helicopters please send your comments to the Airports Commission by the 27th September 2013.

Here is a link to a GetSurrey article on Fairoaks proposals for expansion – http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/fairoaks-airport-could-solve-aviation-5685145

Experience indicates that the proposed expansion of airport activity will be done without any consideration of the noise impact on local residents.

Any representations need to be made by 27th September:
