Road closures in and around Chobham Road closures in and around Chobham

Following a meeting with the Surrey County Council street team who manage all works on the highway, Mike Goodman is pleased to confirm that the Castle Grove closure is progressing ahead of schedule and it is likely that it will end this week and all diversions will be removed.

However Affinity water have several major schemes to complete, we have already seen two of these earlier this year one in Bagshot and the other at West End.

Two Closures this Month.

There are now to be two schemes in Chobham the first one will be from October 24th till November 17th along the Bagshot Road from Gordon's roundabout end towards Chobham. Temporary traffic signals will be used on the Bagshot Road which at peak morning and evening periods will be controlled manually to assist traffic flows, we can however still expect traffic disruption. The second scheme will be at the end of Chobham Road where it meets the Ottershaw roundabout. This will mean Chobham Road will be closed from October 18th till November 3rd. Although access along Chertsey Road to Chobham Road will still be possible to the point of closure, motorists will not be able to use this road to gain access to the motorway.

Mike Goodman is currently working with the highways to agree the best diversion. What ever the diversions it is possible that residents will use Station Road to Guildford road which would mean traffic hold ups. Signs and notice will be in place this week but I would appreciate if you could distribute this to residents and organisations.

If residents have any questions, please contact Mike Goodman - the Cabinet Member for Environment and Planning at Surrey CC. (http://mycouncil.surreycc.gov.uk/mgUserInfo.aspx?UID=927).

Chobham residents can also keep an eye on road closure news via the Affinity Water website.
